For Trained Dogs Only

We offer daycare and boarding only to clients who’ve completed our training program. This keeps the environment stable, safe, and peaceful.

Daycare

Purpose: ongoing socialization and structure

Who it’s for: training graduates

How it works:

• Dates are announced via social media + newsletter

• Spots are first come, first served—usually capped at 8

• Drop-off and pickup times are clearly communicated

• Social time is carefully matched by play style and comfort

• Dogs receive crate breaks between play periods

• Not all dogs are “dog park” types—and we respect that

“We chaperone play like parents at recess—not everyone wants to wrestle, and that’s okay.”

Boarding

What it is: peaceful in-home boarding in our personal space

Who it’s for: trained clients only

Why clients love it: it’s calm, clean, and familiar

Environment:

• Dogs sleep in climate-controlled crates

• We monitor them 24/7 via in-person check-ins and cameras

• All dogs are already crate-trained and understand the rhythm

• Social play and leash walks are built into their stay

• No barking chaos. No kennel stress.

“It’s like they’re on vacation too—and they don’t want to come home.” — client

Availability: year-round except for a few posted closure dates

Booking Steps:

1. Check daycare or boarding dates via IG or email

2. Text/call/email Kay to reserve a spot

3. Receive your invoice

4. Let us know when you’re on the way day-of

If it’s been over a year since your dog last boarded with us or if their training program was completed more than a year ago, we recommend scheduling a call, a day of daycare, or an overnight stay. This will help us assess any behavioral changes and reacquaint your dog with our facilities and processes. We look forward to welcoming you back!

Property Etiquette

To ensure a safe, controlled, and enjoyable environment for all our clients, please adhere to the following rules when visiting our property:

  1. Tools Requirement: All dogs must be on the training tools used during their board and train program. If there is any issue with these tools, please address it before arriving for drop-off.

  2. Control at Drop-Off: Dogs must remain under their owner’s control on leash during drop-off. If your dog is overly excited, use this opportunity to work on managing their excitement before entering the premises.

  3. Health Concerns: If your dog has a health concern of any kind that may affect their overall experience or another dog—such as an ear infection or loose stools that morning, any concerns of illness, Skunk Spraying, Fleas or Ticks—please inform us ahead of time. We know your dogs well, and even minor health issues can impact their behavior, potentially leading to irritation or stress that could cause them to react in ways they normally wouldn’t. Discussing these concerns with us before drop-off helps us ensure your dog’s well-being and maintain a safe environment for all.

  4. Home Access: Please do not enter our home without one of us present. If no one is outside when you arrive, please call or ring the doorbell at the side door. We have designated drop-off and pick-up windows each day. If we’re not outside during those times, it’s likely we’re assisting other dogs, but we will be with you shortly.

  5. Fence Etiquette: For the safety of all dogs, do not approach the fence during pick-up or drop-off. Dogs are not allowed to jump on the fence, and we ask that you refrain from talking to them or allowing your children to reach over the fence. This can easily lead to conflicts among the dogs.

  6. Driveway Speed: Please drive slowly when entering or leaving our property. A speed of 5 mph or slower is acceptable, as we have a toddler and animals that may be free-ranging.

These rules are designed to maintain a safe, controlled, and comfortable environment for everyone. We may repeat these guidelines from time to time, especially as new members join our pack. Whether this is a reminder or the first time you’re hearing these rules, we appreciate your cooperation!

Thank you for helping us keep Lake Erie Dogs a safe and welcoming place for all.
